Some school, college and university networks block new websites. Ask your IT team to allow askroomlive.com.

Signs that the network is blocking it

  • The page does not open, or shows a school filter page.
  • The browser warns that the connection is not private or shows a red line through https. This happens when a school filter inspects secure traffic; the site itself has a valid certificate.
  • The page opens but stays on "Connecting…" or "Reconnecting…".

What to ask your IT team

  • Allow the domain askroomlive.com (and www.askroomlive.com).
  • Allow secure WebSocket connections to wss://askroomlive.com/socket.io/ on port 443. Live answers use them.
  • Exclude askroomlive.com from SSL or HTTPS inspection, if your filter does that.
  • Allow uploads and downloads from askroomlive.com/api/uploads/ for pictures, worksheets and recordings.

  • Try the same device on mobile data. If it works there, it is the network.
  • Try another browser, such as Chrome, Edge or Safari, kept up to date.
