How students join and answer

Students open askroomlive.com on any device, type the code their teacher shows and their name, and they are in. There is no account and nothing to install. They answer on their own screen, and their answers save by themselves.
Joining
- 1Open askroomlive.com in any web browser, or scan the QR code the teacher shows.
- 2Type the code from the big screen.
- 3Type your name, the way your teacher asked.
- 4Wait on the welcome screen until the teacher starts.
Answering
- The question is on one side and the answer on the other. On a phone, the answer is below the question.
- Tap a choice, type, draw, or record your voice, depending on the question.
- Answers save by themselves. For drawings and worksheets, press Done when you have finished.
- The Read aloud button reads the question out, which helps early readers.
- Raise hand asks the teacher for help, or to check your work.
If something goes wrong
- Lost the connection? Open the page again. You carry on exactly where you left off.
- Closed the browser by mistake? Join again on the same device with the same code.
- Typed the wrong code? Check it with your teacher. Codes have six letters and numbers.
Tips for young children
- Show the QR code on the projector, so children only need to point a tablet at it.
- Set the assessment for a junior class. The buttons get bigger and the screens friendlier.
- Use drawing, spoken answers and picture choices, so reading is not a barrier.
- Let children practise joining once with a single fun question before a real lesson.
