Reading comprehension online: passage beside every question

Steps

1. In the editor press Add and choose Passage with questions.
2. Paste the story, poem or article. Bold, italics and lists are kept.
3. Add questions under the passage. Mix choice questions with one written answer.
4. Preview on a phone and on a laptop to check the length.

Tips

• Number the paragraphs in the passage so questions can point to them.
• Ask one question that needs a quotation from the text.
• Use the read-aloud button for younger readers.
• For long passages prefer tablets or laptops, where the passage and the question sit side by side.
